Posted by The lawyers of the “Human Rights in the 21st Century – Azerbaijan” Foundation Nazir Guliyev and Rafik Ismailov returned from the working tour from Sabirabad district. During the tour the staff of the Foundation met deputy Head of the Executive Authority of the Sabirabad district Ilham Askerov. During the tour, the issues related to the situation in the area of Human Rights, work for human rights and also activities of the NGO of Sabirabad district were discussed. Participants of the meeting exchanged the ideas about the marriage of teenage girls.
New booklets, which were constituted by Foundation’s efforts, concerning the rights of participation in the Municipal Elections and rules of appeal to Constitutional Court and to Ombudsman were presented to Ilham Askerov. Ilham Askerov emphasized necessity of enlightenment of the population about the issues of marriage of teenage girls, active participation citizens in the elections and about other issues , he also outlined a great necessity in Foundation’s assistance in this activity.
He also said that municipal elections are of the grace importance for Sabirabad district, which is the largest agricultural district of Azerbaijan Republic with population of 160 thousands people. Deputy Head of the Executive Authority assured representatives of the Foundation in relief actions for successful implementaion of these arrangements. Representatives of the Foundation disseminated booklets among population of the district, which have been constituted by them.
