Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has appointed member of Azerbaijani delegation to the organization Gultakin Hajiyeva rapporteur for women prisoners. APA’s Europe bureau reports that report on women prisoners was being prepared in several committees of PACE.
Gultakin Hajiyeva has been commissioned to prepare the report on behalf of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights. Gultakin Hajiyeva told APA’s Europe bureau that the report would cover the state, social position of women prisoners, their reintegration into the society etc.
Gultakin Hajiyeva has also been appointed rapporteur for demographic situation and migration issues in Europe on behalf of PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population. The report will focus on studying demographic problems in Europe. The Committee has also decided to hold a meeting in Geneva in November. Hearings will be held on Gultakin Hajiyeva’s report at the meeting. The report on women prisoners will be discussed in the autumn session. The report on demographic problems will be discussed next year.
