“Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans” (photo reportage from the 13-th training day)

On December 13, 2010, “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation finished the 13-th training day in the frame of the project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and is implemented by the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation. Trainings cover education of social rights as part of human rights and psychological activities in order to provide the young people from orphanages with necessary capacity to integrate into society and to help them to be responsible citizens and free individuals in the country. 20 young people of 14-17 years of age, who live in the orphanage and do not have any parental support and access to social life have been engaged in the trainings and the venue for the trainings is the orphanage number 2 in Mardakan settlement of Baku city. The legal part of the trainings is conducted by the professional lawyer Ulviyya Rahimova. On the 13-th day of the trainings, Ms. Rahimova informed the training participants about prohibition of any form of exploitation and explained them human trafficking as they are considered as vulnerable groups. The trainer divided the participants in to small groups and they were provided with cases regarding sexual exploitation or forced labor and they defined the types of human exploitation. At the end of the training, Ms. Rahimova recommended the training participants to be careful when they are offered jobs in the future. The psychological part of the trainings is conducted by professional psychologist Aynur Babirova. The topic of the 13-th training day was depression. The trainer explained the factors leading to depression to the participants and explained the ways of prevention of traumatic situations and the ways to get out of depression. At the end of the training, the participants were divided into groups and they worked in small focus groups to discuss the cases that they were provided. The cases enabled the trainees to identify the reasons that lead to depression.
