On December 6, 2010, “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation finished the 12-th training day within its project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and implemented by the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation. Trainings cover education of social rights as part of human rights and psychological activities in order to provide the young people from orphanages with necessary capacity to integrate into society and to help them to be responsible citizens and free individuals in their country. 20 young people of 14-17 years of age, who live in the orphanage and do not have any parental support and access to social life have been engaged in the trainings and the venue for the trainings is the orphanage number 2 in Mardakan settlement of Baku city. The professional lawyer Ulviyya Rahimova delivers legal part of the trainings. On the 12-th day of the trainings, the theme of the training was xenophobia as part of discrimination. Ms. Rahimova informed the participants about general notion and indications of xenophobia coming from xenophobic perceptions. During the training the participants discussed the cases covering xenophobic attitudes and the importance of accepting diversity for mutual understanding. The psychological part of the trainings is conducted by professional psychologist Aynur Babirova. Ms. Babirova delivered training on “Sense of identity and diversity”. She raised awareness of the training participants about diversity in society and how to be tolerant to ethnic groups and other nations as individuals and members of a group, an ethnic group, a nation.
