First Congress for Azerbaijanis working in international organisations opens in Baku

First Congress of Azerbaijanis working in international organizations began its work in Baku on March 17.

About 50 Azerbaijani citizens working in organizations included in the UN system, the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking countries, International Organization for Migration and offices of other structures located in different countries, participate in the event.

The purpose of the event is to create a single center, which will unite Azerbaijani citizens who have work experience at international level, to ensure their active participation in the process of the country’s development.

Issues over creating a single information base on Azerbaijani citizens working in international organisations and the development and application of regular coordination mechanisms among this group and other issues are being discussed at a congress.

Deputy Head of the Administration of the Azerbaijani president and Head of the Foreign Relations Department, Novruz Mammadov spoke at the plenary meeting of the event dedicated to the topic entitled ‘Current situation and prospects for future development regarding Azerbaijani personnel working in international organisations’.

Mammadov spoke about the role of such bodies in a global relations system and Azerbaijan’s place therein as an independent state and the geopolitical processes in the worldwide arena.
