Workshop on cost management held in Baku

A regular event in the framework of series of developing workshops for business representatives was held on 14 March at Baku office of KPMG in Azerbaijan.

This time the meeting was devoted to the cost management and lead by Alexandra Ivanova, Konstantin Rybakov, Marianna Korneeva and Elena Kharitonova, outside experts of Management Consulting Department of KPMG in Moscow.

Cost management approaches, main principles of cost accounting and cost allocation, as well as ways to improve the cost accounting system were discussed in detail at the meeting. KPMG experts not only talked about the theoretical aspects of cost management, but also shared practical recommendations by discussing the approaches to optimize the cost level, showing their project experience and examples of business cases.

According to the workshop participants representing financial institutions and banks, oil and gas companies, energy and mining sectors, the information received was useful, relevant and practicable. Guests expressed their wish to continue the coverage of cost management topic in the future.

Vugar Aliyev, Managing Partner of KPMG in Azerbaijan also made a speech at the workshop. Welcoming the guests, Vugar noted that since the end of 2013 such events had become a tradition. “KPMG will regularly organize business meetings of Azerbaijani business community to discuss the topical issues that concern the professionals from various industries,”- said Vugar Aliyev.

It bears reminding that KPMG is an international network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services. In Azerbaijan, KPMG is one of the largest audit and consulting firms.
