European Court on Human Rights reviews two complaints related to AzerbaijanEuropean Court on Human Rights made decision on the two complaints related to Azerbaijan. According to APA, the court reviewing the case #12528/05 opened at the suit of Ahrar Party’s leader Vagif Mustafa Hajibeyli, who was arrested during the unauthorized meeting in Fuzuli Square of Baku in April, 2000. The court decided that his right to a fair hearing according to the Article 6.1 of the European Convention on Human Rights and free action right on the Article 2 were violated.

According to ECHR decision Hajibeyli has to receive 1500 euro compensation. Other Azerbaijani citizen – Leyli Musrafa Rahmanov, 70 will receive 2000 euro compensation because the court decided that her right to an effective remedy for the psychological damage according to the Article 6.1 and 13 and enjoyment of possessions according to the Protocol 1.1 were violated. She complained about the decision of Azerbaijani courts on her property dispute with her daughter-in-law.
