Council of State Support for Nongovernmental Organizations under Azerbaijan’s President and Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation will finance joint projects and programs. Press service of the Council of State Support for Nongovernmental Organizations told APA that the agreement has been reached at today’s meeting. Chairman of the council Azay Guliyev said after the meeting that “both donor organizations working for the development of civil society in Azerbaijan have a number of strategic targets and the joint activity may be more efficient.”
He said close cooperation of the council with Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation, World Bank, Counterpart International and other donors operating in Azerbaijan strengthens financing of projects in important spheres and rules out repeated financing of some projects. Azay Guliyev noted that exchange of experience plays an important role in the cooperation among donors and said the Council and the World Bank have already begun financing joint projects.
