Vasili Istratov holds last press conference as Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan

Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov, whose tenure has expired, held his last press conference, APA reports.
The diplomat said the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan improved during his diplomatic mission in Baku. Istratov noted that the intergovernmental relations depended on the relations between the Presidents.
“The intergovernmental relations are good, personal relations between the Presidents are at high level,” he said.
Vasili said an official Moscow issued an order to make the buildings owned by Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia federal properties.
“The agreement is not enough. The process is difficult and it should complete soon,” he said.
The Ambassador underlined that there was 15-m disputed issue on the delimitation of Azerbaijan-Russia borders. He said the cross line of borders between Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia had not been coordinated and there was not any problem between Russia and Azerbaijan on this issue.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the journalists cooperated with him during his tenure. The diplomat refused the report that he would be sent as Ambassador to Ukraine.
Asked whether he took something, which would remind Azerbaijan, he said that he would take some Azerbaijani carpets and stressed that the most beautiful carpet was Azerbaijani one in the world.
