United States of America has expanded the list of the countries which do not take proper measures against human trafficking. ANS PRESS based on internet website of US State Department notifies that, in annual report 52 countries and territories are on the topic. In the event that combat against human trafficking is not strengthened, the USA might apply sanction to countries, especially Africa, Asia and Near East countries. Hilary Clinton who presented the report stressed out that, human trafficking is contemporary slavery.
There is a part about Azerbaijan in that report. In the document it is said that human traffickers see Azerbaijan as grassroots and transit. “Azerbaijani women and children are led Turkey and United Arab Emirates.” In the report it is also notified that in Azerbaijan itself there are cases of human trafficking and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic serves as a transit to take women to Turkey. US State Department considers that, though Azerbaijan government does not fulfill minimal standards to surmount human trafficking, it renders some efforts. There are some tips for Azerbaijan, as well.”I order to draw human traffickers to court, law efforts must be strengthened, accomplices, including state employees must be punished.
