The Contact Group of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTSS) has adopted the ‘Joint Plan of Turkic Diaspora’.
This decision was taken on Feb. 3 at a meeting of the CCTSS Contact Group in Istanbul, according to a message from Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The CCTSS Head Halil Akinci informed the participants about the issues on the agenda.
During the meeting it was decided to set up joint centers of the CCTSS member countries’ diaspora organizations in various regions.
Aside from that, it was decided to develop a project on creating a youth commission to establish the links between youth representatives of the CCTSS countries.
Turkey’s proposal on organizing visits of students, journalists and literary figures of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to Turkey was adopted during the discussions.
The meeting also decided to hold a scientific conference of historians in Baku in 2014. The conference topic will be “Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in 1918-1920”.
The meeting participants also welcomed the proposal on holding the joint meeting of Turkic speaking states’ diaspora organizations in France in April 2015.
The “Joint Plan of Turkic Diaspora” was approved during the discussions.
