Turkey is ready to support Azerbaijan in all fields, including the defense sphere, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Coskun told reporters on Jan. 29.
“Azerbaijan is capable of strengthening its defense sphere and Turkey is ready to support Azerbaijan in this area,” said the ambassador.
Turkey is interested in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador said noting that the normalization of relations in the region is impossible without the settlement of the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
According to the ambassador, the forces that might harm relations between the two countries should always be in the spotlight.
With regard to some Turkish parliamentarians who rejected to vote for the draft resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh in PACE, the ambassador said that he doesn’t want to comment on the actions of any parliamentarians.
“However, no one gathered and discussed “how to hamper this issue of Azerbaijan” in any official body in Turkey. It is usually discussed “how to help Azerbaijan more”. Turkish state policy and almost all of the country’s population are very sensitive in the issue of Azerbaijan. This issue is above the state policy,” he added.
