The European Court of Human Rights received 1,522 appeals from Azerbaijan in 2015, which made 2.3 percent of the total appeals received, said the 2015 report of the European court.
According to the report, the European court launched proceedings on 268 of 1,522 appeals received from Azerbaijan. Of them, 123 were rejected, talks were held with the Azerbaijani government on 106 cases and decisions were made on 19 appeals, said the 2015 report by the European Court of Human Rights.
The court passed decisions on a total of 2,441 appeals, up 2% compared to 2015, said the report.
As many as 43,135 appeals were rejected in 2015, down 48% compared to the previous year. In 2015 most appeals (13,850) were received from Ukraine, which amounted to 21.4 percent of the total appeals received.
