“Just, transparent and democratic presidential elections will be conducted in Azerbaijan”, Ogtay Asadov, Speaker of Milli Majlis has addressed autumn session of the Parliament today, APA reports.
The Speaker noted that MM had established legal framework to hold just and democratic elections. Bill on Freedom of Assembly of the Electoral Code has been annexed and amended.
Asadov assessed that participation of three MPs as candidate in the elections positively and reminded that two of them were former MPs. The Speaker stated that 31 MPs would be lawyers of presidential candidate Ilham Aliyev. Asadov added that all measures should be taken to organize elections meeting the European standards. “I am sure that representatives of several international actors will not arrive in Azerbaijan with ready recipe”, he said.
