The results of war waged between Georgia and Russia have been debated during plenary session of PACE, APA European bureau reports.
Majority of parliamentarians assessed the war as blow against security and cooperation in Europe and disrespect to the territorial integrity of Georgia and stated that recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Russia was violation of international principles. Parliamentarians stressed that Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty was inviolable and called Russia to implement its commitments and peace plan signed with Georgia.
Resolution 11724 will be put to vote in the second half of the day.
