In connection with the first European Games, 50 Turkey-produced high-capacity buses have been brought to Baku, deputy head of the Baku Regional Department of the Transport Ministry’s State Department for Transport Management Amrah Jafarov told APA-Economics.
He noted that Isuzu buses have been produced with 60 seats in accordance with the European standards: “These buses will still move in the center of the city. They will be introduced to the public after tech inspection”.
Jafarov said that more 300 buses are planned to be brought to the country in the coming days.
According to him, old vehicles will be removed from the routes: “Other usable buses will be used in settlements in the outskirts of Baku. As the roads are narrow and unrepaired in these settlements, the high-capacity buses cannot move there”.
“The roads in Sevil, Biajari settlements are too narrow and useless. This was caused house irregularly building of houses by population. At the same time, narrow roads prevent reconstruction works there. And it unambiguously causes problems in easy movement of the buses. Discussions are already being held at the Ministry of Transport to solve these problems”, Jafarov said.
