The National TV and Radio Council will hold an event on the role of TV channels in extreme situations, the Council’s chairman, Nushiravan Maharramli told APA. He said the reaction of TV channels to the tragic events at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy made it necessary.

“I was not satisfied with the reaction of TV channels to the events at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The event was unexpected for us, most people didn’t know what happened there and TV channels did have to create shocking effect and show bloody scenes without any specified information. It was a serious trouble and the reports had to be specified and then delivered to the population. Unfortunately our TV channels are not completely professional. Therefore the National TV and Radio Council has to make recommendations on the TV’s activity during the extreme situations”.

Maharramli said the Council would discuss this problem with the TV managers and experts.
