“Azerbaijani government has undertaken commitment for holding free and fair elections on October 15,” Matthew Bryza, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State said at the press conference in Baku, APA reports. He said the elections can be assessed only after the process is over.
Mentioning that the World Bank regards Azerbaijan as one of the leading states for economic growth Matthew Bryza expressed his hope that the economic growth will contribute to the improvement of the state of human rights.
Matthew Bryza said he met with President Ilham Aliyev, head of President’s Executive Office Ramiz Mehdiyev, Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, Defense Minister Safar Abiyev and other officials in Baku, the meetings focused on the forthcoming elections, energy, and situation in the region. “We have action plan and we will continue our cooperation,” he said.
