On October 18, 2010, “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation finished the first training day within its project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and implemented by the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation. Trainings encompass the topic of social rights as part of human rights and psychological lessons and the venue for the trainings is the orphanage number 2 in Mardakan settlement of Baku city. 14-17 year old 20 young people have been involved in the trainings. Moreover, the participants live in the orphanage and do not have any parental support and access to social life.
The legal part of the trainings is conducted by the professional lawyer Ulviyya Rahimova. On the first day of the trainings, Ms. Rahimova got acquainted with the participants by conducting interactive games, role playing related to acquaintance and she defined the general rules for the trainings with the solid agreement of the participants. Then, Ms. Rahimova informed the youth of human rights and human freedom by using Compass – A manual on Human Rights Education with young people. The psychological part of the trainings is conducted by professional psychologist Aynur Babirova. Ms. Babirova got acquainted with the participants in her turn and used various methods to create pleasing atmosphere among the participants.
On the first day of the trainings, the employees of the “Az TV”- Azerbaijan State Television shot the training and the participants gave an interview to them. The training was televised and press agencies published articles concerning the project in the newspapers.
