On November 19, 2010, the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation finished the eighth training day within its project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and implemented by the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation. Trainings encompass the topic of social rights as part of human rights and psychological activities in order to provide the young people from orphanages with necessary capacity to integrate into society and to help them to be responsible citizens and free individuals in Azerbaijan. 20 young people, 14-17 year old have been involved in the trainings and the venue for the trainings is the orphanage number 2 in Mardakan settlement of Baku city. Moreover, the training participants live in the orphanage and do not have any parental support and access to social life. The legal part of the trainings is delivered by the professional lawyer Ulviyya Rahimova. On the 8-th day of the trainings, Ms. Rahimova conducted the training on the topic of right to rest and leisure. Ms. Rahimova informed the participants of rational arrangement of leisure time by the government and their access to free and affordable vocational trainings and non-university education programs. After having analyzed the cases prepared in line with the training topic, the participants discussed the cases in different groups.
The psychological part of the trainings is conducted by professional psychologist Aynur Babirova. Ms. Babirova started the training on the topic of “Interests” and raised their awareness about different types of interests. Moreover, Ms. Babirova distributed psychological tests among the participants with an aim to define their interests. She organized role-playings and the participants discussed reasonable ways of leisure time activities.
