“US will now become a producer, while it was building only terminal, importing gas five years ago. I believe that we’ll become the biggest energy producer at the end of decade”, said the Charge d’Affairs of the Embassy of the United States of America (USA) in Azerbaijan Derek Hogan at the second day of meeting held as a part of the 2nd Azerbaijan and Caspian Sea Oil and Gas Week 2014.
“Currently, the US 7 LNG projects have been confirmed. We intend to increase it to 50 in the future. Now, the US is trying to get energy boost. This will help stabilization in the region”, Hogan said.
Answering question “Will the US interest in Caspian gas reduce after LNG production?”, Hogan said: “I think the Caspian gas is more significant for our European partners. Azerbaijan, including Casipian states are always important for us”.
The diplomat said that Caspian states, as well as Azerbaijan are the energy partners of the US.
“US is always partner with Azerbaijan in elimination of all difficulties”, Hogan added.
