Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has publicized the result of an analysis on the Armenian Mi-24 military helicopter which was shot down while attacking on the Azerbaijani army’s positions in Aghdam District on November 12.
The analysis of the flights of the Armenian Mi-24 military helicopter couple providing fire support to subunits of the Armenian Armed Forces on November 12 and the tasks they were executing once again confirms the initial result, the Defense Ministry told APA.
The animation model made in reference to the opinions of military aviation experts and operational intelligence data, based on the latest observations at the site, clearly shows the flight crew has executed a task of firing on our positions located on the front line in accordance with the helicopter’s combat assignment.
After executing the combat task – after opening fire on our positions – the enemy helicopters left the firing area protecting each other in maneuvers and full compliance with combat instructions.
Considering the Armenian side’s manipulating the reports about the incident, the ban on all flights over the occupied territories and the assessment of the unauthorized flights over these territories as a violation, we state that the enemy military helicopter which opened fire on our positions was shot down with return fire”, said the statement.
On November 12, the Mi-24 helicopters of the Armenian Armed Forces flying in the direction of Aghdam region attacked the Azerbaijani positions. One of the two enemy helicopters was shot down and 3 pilots were killed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
