The executive authorities in Azerbaijan will control the provision of labor migrants’ rights by employers, the Azerbaijani parliament Milli Majlis told Trend Oct. 15.
The issue was included in a bill of amendments to the Article 13 of the Labor Code of Azerbaijan.
The issues not covered by the Migration Code, will be regulated by the Labor Code of Azerbaijan, according to the amendments.
Under the changes, when employing the foreigners and stateless persons, it will be needed to obtain permission in accordance with the Labor Code, except for cases specified in Article 64 of the Migration Code.
The Article 13 of the Labor Code says that the foreigners and stateless persons can be employed after giving them an individual permit to engage in paid employment in Azerbaijan.
The proposed amendments will be discussed at the next plenary meeting of the parliament on Oct. 17.
