On November 26, 2010, “Human Rights in the XXI century-Azerbaijan” Foundation has organized an event called “European Night” in the frame of the project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. It should be noted that, the project started in October and is implemented with the financial support of the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe. The aim of “European night” event was to inform the 20 young people already involved in the project and the teachers` staff of the Orphanage School Number 2, situated in Mardakan village, Khazar district of Baku City, about various programs of the European Youth Foundation and as well as about general aims and purposes of the Council of Europe. Shahin Jamalov, the President of “Human Rights XXI Century – Azerbaijan” Foundation, opened the event with his introductory speech. Mr. Jamalov discussed the implementation of the project and the level of benefit with youth of the orphanage. Athanasios (Sakis) Krezios, consultant trainer in the European Youth Foundation, who was invited to take part in the European Night by “Human Rights XXI Century – Azerbaijan”, impressed youth with his good conversations, fun games and with his European approach. He held discussion about the life style of the European youth, arrangement of leisure time of youth in Europe, youth policy of European states, the working principles of the European Youth Foundation with youth and he encouraged the youth to participate in the programs of EYF. The second part of the event continued at the tea table. Employees of “Human Rights XXI Century – Azerbaijan” and European guest presented their gifts to orphan youth.
At the end of the event European expert noted the importance of the involvement of Azerbaijani youth in the international projects and intercultural exchange programs.
