On October 22, 2010, “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation finished the second training day within its project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and implemented by the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation. Trainings encompass the topic of social rights as part of human rights and psychological lessons and the venue for the trainings is the orphanage number 2 in Mardakan settlement of Baku city. 14-17 year old 20 young people have been involved in the trainings. Moreover, the participants live in the orphanage and do not have any parental support and access to social life.
The legal part of the trainings is conducted by the professional lawyer Ulviyya Rahimova. On the second day of the trainings, Ms. Rahimova conducted the training on the right to apply and complain to state authority bodies and informed them of the guidelines concerning suing to the court. They were taught to lodge a complaint and prepare documents to take an appeal to a higher court. At the end of the training, the problems that people encounter in Azerbaijan in terms of the right complain to state authority bodies were discussed.
The psychological part of the trainings is conducted by professional psychologist Aynur Babirova. Ms. Babirova started the training on the creation of atmosphere of trust and informed the participants of traumatic situations and she discussed the ways of prevention of traumatic situations. At the end of the training the participants were divided into groups and they worked in small focus groups to discuss the cases that they were provided. On the second day of the training there was a good atmosphere for the participants to express themselves and their feedback.
