On October 25, 2010, “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation finished the third training day within its project “Let’s Create Social Inclusion Opportunities for Young Orphans”. The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and implemented by the “Human Rights in the XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation. Trainings encompass the topic of social rights as part of human rights and psychological lessons and the venue for the trainings is the orphanage number 2 in Mardakan settlement of Baku city. 14-17 year old 20 young people have been involved in the trainings. Moreover, the participants live in the orphanage and do not have any parental support and access to social life. The legal part of the trainings is conducted by the professional lawyer Ulviyya Rahimova. On the third day of the trainings, Ms. Rahimova delivered the training on legal and social protection and informed the participant of the Convention on children’s rights. The 20 participants were divided into small focus groups and they discussed practical cases about legal protection of families and childcare. At the end, the participants made their group presentations.
The psychological part of the trainings is conducted by professional psychologist Aynur Babirova. Ms. Babirova delivered the training on role of tolerance in families and she discussed the influence sexual exploitation in Azerbaijani society. In focus groups, the participants discussed equality in families with regard to national family values in Azerbaijan.
