In 2014, 106,000 Azerbaijani citizens obtained labor patents in Russia.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Federal Migration Service department for work with foreigners Dmitry Demidenko during a press conference held at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia with regard to the new rules for labor migrants to be applied from 1 January 2015 on, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, the labor was actually introduced in 2010.

“During this period, the state budget received RUB 6 billion from the issuance of labor patents. In 2014, a total of 2,107,000 foreign citizens obtained labor patients. 106,000 of them are Azerbaijani citizens,” he noted.

Demidenko also clarified the problems of Azerbaijani students who are banned from entering Russia for violating the requirements of migration laws.

He said regardless of his/her identity and status, a foreigner who is banned from entering Russia can apply to the Federal Migration Service through its official website.

“Entry ban is not introduced by an individual or individuals; it is regulated via a common computer database system. If the database indicates that the student has violated the law, then his/her entry into the country is automatically banned. Therefore the Azerbaijani students, who were banned from entering Russia, can apply to us through the official website of the Federal Migration Service or his/her relatives,” he said.
