Volume of damage to railways in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories announced

According to Azerbaijan Railway’s Press Secretary Nadir Azmammdov, 240.4 km-part of Azerbaijan’s railways is in Azerbaijan’s territories occupied by Armenians.

 

This area includes Horadiz-Ordubad (144 km) (including 43.4 km on Mehri district), Minjivan-Gafan (39.1 km), Tezekend-Khankendi (51.0 km), Gazakh-Barkhudarli (6.3 km). This are suffered damage $45,060,000 as a result of Armenian occupation.

 

Minjivan depot was completely destructed in April 1992. 10 different diesel locomotives are under the blockade and suffered damage approximately $14 mln. Total damage to wagons amounted to $4,860,000. Technical inspection stations, repair shops, lifting mechanisms, freight wagons and other technical equipments in Horadiz-Minjivan-Gafan-Imishli stations have been destructed. Damage to railroad infrastructure makes $10,250,000.

 

Damage to the occupied stations in Horadiz-Minjivan on Transportation Management Associations approximately amounts to $12,350,000. Communication and Signalling, Energy Supply in Horadiz-Minjivan suffered damage $3,600,000. This includes 80 km-special cables, automatic blocking systems, communication and telegraph devices, automatic blocking systems in Minjivan-Bartaz, Minjivan-Khurama areas, relay semi-automatic block systems.

 

Victims of 31 March genocide are commemorated in the events held in the structures of Azerbaijan Railways located alongside the line.
