Vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and guests from Russia visited Ganja city

Vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the founder and head of International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) Campaign Leyla Aliyeva and guests from Russia participating in the bicentennial anniversary of the outstanding Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov held in Baku visited the country’s Ganja city.

 

Leyla Aliyeva and guests from Russia visited the Heydar Aliyev Park Complex, ascended the Triumphal Arch measuring 41 meters to view the entire park. Then, they came to the Heydar Aliyev Center.

 

The visitors examined the amphitheater with a seating capacity of 3,000 spectators built in the Park Complex.

 

Leyla Aliyeva and the guests from Russia viewed the models of the Maiden Tower which were shown at the international “Maiden Tower” festival which is annually held in Baku with assistance of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Participating in planting a new plane tree, Leyla Aliyeva symbolically called it “Lermontov’s Tree”. The guests from Russia also took part in planting a tree.

 

Within acquaintance with the Heydar Aliyev Center, Leyla Aliyeva took part in the opening of the Ganja City Resource Center of the IDEA Public Union here.

 

Then, Leyla Aliyeva and guests from Russia visited the Mausoleum of the prominent Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. It was reported that in due time the Mausoleum was capitally repaired according to the Order of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. And in 2011, on the eve of preparation for 870th anniversary of the great thinker and poet, according to the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev, the territory of the Mausoleum was even more expanded and reconstructed.

 

Vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and guests from Russia who visited the Mausoleum were given detailed information about the poet, the outstanding persons participating in his jubilee ceremony.
