US observers: “Presidential elections in Azerbaijan were free and fair”

A group of US observers monitoring the October 15 presidential elections held press conference.

Head of the group Gwen Belcourt said 40 US observers watched the elections, APA reports.Former congressmen and politicians were among them. He said they conducted observation in more than 200 polling stations. Belcourt assimilated the election technology in Azerbaijan with the US technology. He said on the Election Day they didn’t see breaches of law which were found out during the previous elections.

“The group didn’t see any violation in the polling stations it observed”. Belcourt made statement on behalf of observers group, which said that the elections were free and fair. “The group observed full transparency and fairness and it is very pleasant case”.
