He made the remarks on the sidelines of the International Music Festival “Sharq taronalari” (“Melodies of Orient”) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
UNESCO’s cooperation with the region, including Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is at a high level, said Falt, adding that the organization is very proud of cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The assistant director general noted that 2015 is very important for UNESCO, since this year marks the 70th anniversary of the organization and in particular, Azerbaijani leadership has rendered active support to it this year.
UNESCO holds and supports many events in the region, he added.
UNESCO succeeded to organize numerous events in Azerbaijan in all spheres in which the two sides cooperate, first of all in the sphere of culture, said Falt.
He added that a number of events were organized in this sphere, as well as in the field of science and education.
It is important for UNESCO that these events are held not only in one area of cooperation, but in all spheres, Falt said.
