“The number of internally displaced people in the world reached a record high”, Kyung-Wha Kang, UN Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator said at the Security Council Debate, APA reports quoting the website of the UN.
“The number of people displaced by conflict has reached levels not seen since the Second World War. At the end of 2013, there were more than 33 million people living in internal displacement caused by conflict and violence. The majority have been displaced for several years or even decades”, she said.
