On Friday, the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan organized Iftar ceremony. It was attended by Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, MPs, diplomats and the public.
Welcoming the guests, the Charge d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Adam Sterling called Iftar one of his favorite events hosted by the US embassy.
“It is a chance to celebrate our shared values and to honor the traditions of religious tolerance and respect in Azerbaijan”, – said Sterling.
He noted that for centuries, Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived side-by-side in Azerbaijan. Through these years, they have always offered their famous hospitality to guests regardless of faith, race or creed.
Sterling said that the world is in great need of such examples of friendship and tolerance among faiths.
