At the invitation of parliamentarian Ganira Pashayeva and editor-in-chief of Zaman-Azerbaijan newspaper Enes Cansever, representatives of a number of Turkish newspapers and TV channels will participate in the events on the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy in Tovuz region.
Ganira Pashayeva told APA that the guests will also visit the villages of Tovuz bordering on Armenia. The Turkish journalists will be told that Armenia often violated ceasefire, fired at civilians and houses, burned the cemetery, destroyed the cultural historical monuments. The guests will meet with the residents of the bordering villages. Ganira Pashayeva underlined that the aim of the Turkish journalists’ visit is to give detailed information about Khojaly genocide, occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, their crimes in Turkish mass media. The parliamentarian said the journalists will also see Armenians’ vandalism in seven occupied villages of Gazakh. The parliamentarian said the journalists will also familiarize themselves with Ganja, the potential, activities and development of Azerbaijani regions.
Editor-in-chief of Zaman-Azerbaijan newspaper Enes Cansever told APA that Azerbaijani media is concerned over the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Cansever noted that similar concerns are seen in the speeches of Azerbaijani officials and said the aim of the visit is to inform the Turkish community about Karabakh problem on the eve of the anniversary of Khojaly tragedy.
“Our aim is to meet with the people, who underwent Armenian aggression, carry Karabakh problem and Armenia’s aggression to the public consciousness of Turkey,” he said.
Cansever said the representatives of Zaman, Yeni Shafak, Kanal 7, Aksion, Bu gun, Star will visit the villages.
Turkish journalists will leave for Tovuz tomorrow. On February 23, they will participate in the final of two competitions “Let’s love our mother tongue”, “VII international Turkish Olympiads – Azerbaijan” organized by Cag Oyretim Ishletmeleri company.
