Turkey has officially handed over the NATO coordination mission on Azerbaijan to Romania.
APA reports that special ceremony on the occasion of handing over the NATO coordination mission on Azerbaijan to Romanian Embassy in Azerbaijan. NATO coordinator for the South Caucasus Zbigniew Ribatski also attended the handover ceremony. It was noted at the event that Turkey was the NATO coordinator on Azerbaijan since 1994. Romania will be the coordinator on Azerbaijan within the next two years.
Delivering a speech at the event, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilich noted that Azerbaijan’s integration into Euro-Atlantic space was successfully continuing and this process would continue henceforth.
NATO coordinator for the South Caucasus Zbigniew Ribatski stated that Azerbaijan’s integration into the organization was continuing.
