The rules “To place and keep children in refuges fallen a victim to trafficking” are asserted in Azerbaijan

The Cabinet of Ministers in Azerbaijan has asserted the rules “To place and keep children in refuges fallen a victim to trafficking”. Trend News has received this information through the Cabinet of Ministers. The rules have been prepared corresponding to “National Action Plan of the Republic of Azerbaijan against Traficking(2009-2013)” confirmed under the order of the president on February 6, 2009 and defines the mechanism of realisation of rules to place and keep children in refuges fallen a victim to trafficking.

According to the rules, placing and keeping children in refuges will be realised on the basis of voluntariness, confidentiality, personal approach, protection of interest of the victims, security, parity, respect to the victims, first aid, free assistance. Irrespective of personality, all the children placed in the refugee will be treated without discrimination.

Under the legislation of Azerbaijan Republic, the information wiht regard to the children kept in the refuge and their parents is kept confidential. The duration of keeping the children in the refuge is 60 days. The duration can be prolonged under the stipulation that, when a child is in danger, the search of parents of a child or guardianship is not finished or found, the rehabilitation is not completed and when there is a necessity to investigate a child by a police institution on a criminal issue.

The director of the refugee informs the Ministry of Internal Affaires, institutions and people who protect the rights and interests of the child ten days prior to the expiry of the fixed time.
