When reading the report of “Freedom House”, it becomes clear that, the clauses regarding the state of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been prepared by using one-sided and biased information in the document. We regretfully underline that, this kind of report disseminated by the non-governmental organisation has the aim of perplexing general public and giving false information. It is obvious that, the authors of the report are not interested in the state of human rights and democracy but in their own interests.
We undoubtedly condemn the report which has been prepared based on the disinformation, false and exaggerated information provided by NGO-s and different individuals that serve interests of some external forces. We regretfully underline that, in its report “Freedom House” has not expressed its view on the fact of the massive and flagrant violations of human rights for many years – the fact that Azerbaijani land being under occupation which is a necessary and urgent problem. The organisation has not touched upon the violated property and other rights of over one million people. And we would like to believe that, its future reports will include this big issue, too.
On behalf of the Foundation, we call upon “Freedom House” and other international human rights organizations being biassed against our country not to distort facts and events, not to confuse the international community. We encourage them to support the state that has lost 20 percent of its territory and has over 1 million refugees and internally displased people and to support the young country that goes in the course of democracy.
We hope that, “Freedom House” and other international human rights organizations will hear our voice and will take our remarks and recommendations into account during the following reports.
