On March 6, at the extraordinary session of the City Council , it was agreed that “the city of Sevastopol will become part of the Russian Federation as a subject of the Russian Federation”, – APA reports quoting UNIAN.
According to a report published on the website of the city council, the decision was made “using the European Charter of Local Self-Government, Articles 38, 69 of the Constitution, Article 1 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Article 1 of the International Covenant on civil and Political Rights, on the basis of Articles 7, 26 of the Law of Ukraine “On local Self-Government in Ukraine”.
Previously, the city council passed a question about getting into Russia Sevastopol to a referendum, scheduled for March 16.
