Secretary General of UN addressed to international community on the occasion of International Day dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust victims. 65 years before, in this day the biggest and the most disgraced death camp Auschwitz Birkenau was set free, declared in the information of Trend News delivered via UN Head Office in Baku.

“There and everywhere millions of people were tortured and murdered. Most of them were Jewish people. Among murdered people there were also thousand inhabitants of Roma and Sinti “family camps”- Ban Ki-Moon stated.

Secretary General also noted that legacy of people who survived from Holocaust should always live. “We should reflect their memories in our monuments, education and the most important in our decisive efforts for not to be repeated genocides and another massive slaughters. UNO should completely devote itself to this purpose. Let’s all together promise solemnly to protect the Holocaust Memories and to be supporter of respecting respect for human dignity” – is noted in his appeal.

This year, remembering ceremonies which were organized by UNO’s agencies in all over the world, were dedicated to the legacy of survived people of Holocaust.
