The ships of the Russian Navy’s Caspian Flotilla left the port of Baku on Oct. 20, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The large missile patrol ship Dagestan and the small missile patrol ship Grad Svijazhsk of Russia’s Caspian Flotilla called at Baku port Oct. 16.
During the visit, a delegation of Russian sailors visited the graves of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev and the prominent scientist, ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor.
They also visited the alley of martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in the defense of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, freedom and independence.
The delegation also viewed the exhibits at the museum on the National Flag Square, and went sightseeing in Baku.
Aside from that, there was a friendly football match between the Azerbaijani and Russian sailors.
The commanding officers and delegation of the Caspian Flotilla were received by the command of the Azerbaijani Navy.
The guests also viewed the educational process at Azerbaijan’s higher naval school.
