Russia has refused to attend the meeting of the joint meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and Permanent Council.

APA reports that it was reflected in the statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Moscow considers that it is inexpedient to hold the joint meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and Permanent Council due to the situation on the border with Georgia.

“Under these conditions, the Russian side considers meaningless making concessions to the U.S. and Ukrainian delegations and refused to attend the joint meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and Permanent Council.

Western countries do not use the OSCE to ease the situation in Ukraine. On the contrary, they are escalating tension. We call on the U.S. and other countries stop using the OSCE turbine to aggravate the situation in Ukraine,” says the statement.

The joint meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and Permanent Council was convened at the request of the United States and Ukraine. Washington and Kiev expressed their concern over the activity of Russian troops on the border regions of Ukraine.

Moscow said that there is no reason for the concern of the U.S. and Ukraine.
