“The European Union sees Azerbaijan as a strategic partner in the field of energy,” head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia said at the press conference on the outcomes of the Energy Reform Support Programme in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Kobia said that energy and alternative energy sources are the priorities of the EU-Azerbaijan cooperation. He noted that Azerbaijan has a great potential of alternative energy sources (wind, sunlight, hydro, hydrothermal).
“Implementing twinning programs, allocating grants for relevant projects, financing regional programs like INOGATE and budget supporting programs, the European Union supports the development of alternative energy sources,” he said.
