“Human Rights XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation started to implement a new project in partnership with the “International Committee of the Red Cross”. The project entitled “Accompaniment of Families of Missing Persons” started on the 1 –st of October, 2011 and will last for three months.
Within the frame of the project, it is intended to provide psychosocial support for a total of 60 families of missing persons. The aim of the project is to ensure their access to psychosocial support services in order to reduce psychosocial difficulties of the families missing persons. For this purpose, special meetings and family visits will be organized by psychologists and social workers of the “Human Rights XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation with those families. During these visits, psychological and legal needs of these families will be discovered and legal and psychological support will be provided for them.
On August 02, 2011, the first meeting with the families of 12 missing people was organized in the office of the foundation. In the frame of meeting, the family members were listened and existing problems were found out. In the following weeks, among other things, 4 more group meetings of this type will be held.
Alongside with the psychological and legal assistance during the conversations with the families in the frame of the project, “Human Rights XXI Century-Azerbaijan” Foundation will explore their needs in various directions and then will prepare proposals to the legislation acts.
