“Oil prices are now declined. Does somebody in Azerbaijan feel it? No, and will not feel, as we have strong economic foundations”, – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in the opening ceremony of the I Republic-wide forum of volunteers ASAN at the Center Heydar Aliyev, in Sabirabad on December 16, APA reports.

The President noted that the rate of manat is stable: “It allows us to say that we have and economic power, and decided policy, and social policy. The stability of the manat is perhaps not so positive factor for our export potential. But it is a social issue. So it should be”.

According to Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan really puts a unique model of development and is willing to share his experience: “Therefore, every young person is justly proud, and should be proud of the fact that being citizen of Azerbaijan. Every young man should strive to ensure that our country has become even stronger, more powerful, to have increased ability to influence. Every young person should be linked to national roots, national traditions, our customs and traditions. It should not be under foreign influence. We already apply in Azerbaijan the world a positive experience, do everything you need. I really want and I am sure it will be so, because such is the reality today.”

The President noted that Azerbaijan is on its way, the path of independence: “We were under occupation of other countries and empires for the centuries. We were not free, independent. Why, our people can not live freely, independently? Its 23 years that we are independent. This is a great happiness. This is our greatest asset. But this independence needs to be complemented by political independence at the same time that we see today in Azerbaijan. We are pursuing an independent policy. No foreign power can influence our will. We do not do anything and will not do under someone else’s dictation. We will always speak out and demonstrate our principled position. It should always be so. You also need to grow up in this spirit, so that no foreign power could affect our will to Azerbaijan followed the path of development, freedom and independence.”
