President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban have held an expanded meeting. The Hungarian Prime Minister welcomed the Azerbaijani President in front of the parliament. Then an official photo was taken. Members of the Hungarian government were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev, and members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Speaking at the expanded meeting, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban hailed the importance of President Ilham Aliyev`s visit. He said Azerbaijan is of great interest both to the parliament and entire political elite of Hungary. “Each of us is following your country`s progress with great admiration, particularly in economy and non-oil sector,” said Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized the role of his friendly ties with President Ilham Aliyev in the development of the bilateral cooperation, and noted that there was good potential for the expansion of the relations between the two countries. X X X Then President Ilham Aliyev made a speech. The President of Azerbaijan said that the relations between the countries were successfully developing, adding these ties were based on mutual confidence. Saying there were strong political bonds between Azerbaijan and Hungary, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the economic relations were also successfully developing and trade between the two countries grew. The head of state said there were ample opportunities for the expansion of the economic cooperation. Praising the importance of the documents to be signed, the Azerbaijani President said they will create a good legal framework for the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of reviewing new prospects of the relations and underlined the activities of the joint inter-governmental commission in this regard. The sides stressed the significance of defining prospects for cooperation in energy, educational, humanitarian, pharmaceutical, investment making and other fields. The Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, cooperation within the European Union, regional and other issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
