The preliminary cause of the explosion on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops has been established.
Azerbaijani defense minister and a group of officers, who arrived at the incident site in order to investigate the results of the mine explosion on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in the direction of the Fizuli region on April 7 at about 22:30 (local time), have returned to Baku.
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that an anti-tank mine left over from the war caused the explosion, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on April 8.
It wasn’t possible to find the mine using special equipment since it was at a great depth and the explosion occurred at this site during the earthwork there.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact. The military prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation.
Azerbaijani Defense Ministry expressed condolences to the parents and relatives of the dead servicemen.

Azerbaijani army soldiers – Novruz Abdullayev Gurban oglu, Seyfeddin Karimov Navai oglu and Captain Jeyhun Orujaliyev Jalil oglu were killed as a result of the mine explosion.
The soldiers Musayev Bahruz Muhammedali oglu, Mirzayev Ali Panah oglu, Iskenderzade Azer Eyyub oglu, Zulfugarov Mursal Ibrahim oglu, Jabrailov Sadig Misirkhan oglu and Talibov Emin Talib oglu were injured in the incident.
Azerbaijani soldiers Musayev Bahruz Muhammadali oglu and Talibov Emin Talib oglu, who were severely injured as a result of the mine explosion, were transferred to Baku on a military-medical helicopter. They were put into the Main Clinical Hospital of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
The chief surgeon and chief resuscitation specialist of Azerbaijani armed forces have arrived at the military hospital in Ahmedbeyli village of Fizuli district in order to provide highly qualified medical assistance to the injured.
