The Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of the Republic of Paraguay has adopted a statement which respects the sovereignty, territorial integrity and internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan.
The statement adopted at the plenary meeting of the Chamber of Deputies on Sept.10 once again confirms that Nagorno-Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan, the territory of Azerbaijan was occupied by Armenia and the military operations carried out by Armenian armed forces have led to the fact that thousands of people were killed, many were captured, went missing and turned into internally displaced persons.
In its statement, Paraguay’s Chamber of Deputies expresses respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan, calls for the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions #822, #853, #874 and #884 and relevant documents of the UN General Assembly.
According to the document, by adopting this statement, the Chamber of Deputies shares the pain of victims of the conflict and stresses the importance of coexistence in peace and respect for human rights as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
