“If the situation in Azerbaijan does not change until September, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) can appoint the repporteur on political prisoners in autumn session”, said Luis Maria de Puig, PACE President at the briefing in Baku on Wednesday.
He said PACE co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel would lead the observation mission in the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan, represented by nearly 30 parliamentarians. PACE President said he supported the peaceful solution of the Nagorno Karabakh problem and they would make all efforts for that.
