There are 1520 refugees and asylum seekers in Azerbaijan, Chief Consultant of Azerbaijani Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Elsever Agayev, told Trend on Tuesday.
Most of the refugees are Afghans, Agayev said.
He added that 46 percent of refugees and asylum seekers in Azerbaijan are Afghans, 43 percent are Chechens, five percent are Iranians and the remaining refugees and asylum-seekers are the nationals of other countries.
