OIC resolution supports proposal for labor center establishment in Baku

Azerbaijan’s activity in expanding the cooperation in the field of labor, employment and social protection among the OIC member-states was stressed in a resolution on economic issues, adopted at the 41st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social Security said on June 23.

The resolution once again welcomes the proposal for the establishment of the OIC labor center headquartered in Baku. This proposal was made by President Aliyev at the meeting with participants of the OIC Second Conference of Labor Ministers, held in Baku in 2013.

Azerbaijan’s efforts in this area are also supported.

The document also highlights the significance of the results of the first meeting of the Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Framework Document on Labor, Employment and Social Welfare of the OIC, held in Baku on June 17-18, 2014. The document urges to double efforts in resolving issues arising from the Framework Document.
